About Vera

Travel nursing without the middleman.

Vera exists because a nurse should know exactly what a contract pays before she applies, and be rewarded for showing up.

Why we built this

In most of travel nursing, a nurse is told a weekly number and asked to trust it. The breakdown is vague, the rate depends on who negotiated it, and the recruiter who quoted it may not be there next contract.

We think that system is broken. Vera replaces it with something simpler. The platform employs nurses directly, shows the full pay package on every contract, posts one rate for every nurse, and adds perks as a nurse proves reliable.

Show the nurse the whole package. Then reward the nurses who show up.

What Vera commits to

  • The full pay package is on every contract, before you apply.

  • One posted rate for every nurse. It does not change after you submit.

  • Your reliability score unlocks hourly bumps, completion bonuses and early access, never a penalty rate.

  • Nurses are W-2 employees of Vera on every contract they work through the platform.

  • Credentialing, submissions, housing, payroll, and extensions are handled by Vera, not outsourced to a recruiter.

  • Unit reviews from nurses who actually worked there are shown to every nurse considering the facility.

What we stand on

Four commitments that shape every product decision, from the pay breakdown to the reliability score.

Direct employment

Vera employs nurses as W-2 employees and submits them straight to the facility's vendor management system. One recruiter who knows your history, and no layers between you and the hospital.

Transparent pay

Every contract shows the full pay package: weekly gross, taxable hourly, housing and meals stipends, and your estimated take-home. One posted rate for every nurse, locked when you submit.

Nurse accountability

Your reliability score is built from completed contracts, extensions, and facility feedback. Finish what you start and you unlock hourly bumps, completion bonuses and early access. Walk off without cause and you lose them. Nurses who show up are rewarded for it.

Facility accountability

Nurses review the units they work on, and those reviews are visible to every nurse considering that facility. Facilities that treat travelers well fill contracts faster. Facilities that don't, hear about it.

Who Vera is for

Vera is for nurses who finish their contracts. The reliability score is deliberately blunt: it rewards nurses who complete assignments, extend when asked, and get good feedback from the units they work on, and it costs nurses who leave a facility short-staffed without cause. That is the trade. In exchange for accountability, you get the full pay package up front, perks that grow with your record, and a platform that advocates for you with the facility instead of for itself.

It is also for facilities that want reliable travelers and are willing to be reviewed honestly by the nurses they bring in. Accountability runs both ways.
