Terms of Service

Plain rules for using Vera. No fine print designed to trap you.

Last updated September 12, 2026

The short version

You are responsible for the truth of every credential you submit.

The short version

Vera is your employer only when a signed contract says so.

The short version

Pay shown on the Platform is an estimate until it is in a signed contract.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Vera (“Vera,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of veranurse.com and related services (the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

Employment with Vera on a specific contract is governed by a separate written agreement. Where that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for that contract.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, hold or be actively pursuing a nursing license in the United States, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. You may hold one account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

3. What the Platform Does

The Platform lets you browse contract openings at healthcare facilities, see the full pay package Vera projects for each, compile your credentials into a submission packet, apply to contracts, and, if selected, work those contracts as a W-2 employee of Vera. The Platform also provides an AI recruiter, housing information, facility reviews, and credential management tools.

Listing a contract does not guarantee that it is still open, that you will be submitted, or that a facility will select you. Facilities make their own selection decisions.

4. Your Credentials and Accuracy

Healthcare facilities rely on the information in your submission packet to decide whether you are qualified and safe to care for their patients. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything you provide to Vera, including:

  • Your legal name, identity documents, and contact information.
  • Nursing license numbers, issuing states, status, and expiration dates.
  • Certifications, immunization records, and health screening results.
  • Work history, including facilities, units, dates, and reasons for leaving.
  • Skills checklist self-assessments.
  • References, who must be real people who have agreed to be contacted.
  • Any disciplinary action, license restriction, or pending investigation against you.

You represent and warrant that every document you upload is genuine and unaltered, that every credential is yours and current, and that you will update your profile promptly when anything changes, including a license expiration, a new disciplinary action, or a change in your ability to work.

Vera’s verification is not a substitute for yours. We check licenses against public board records and use automated tools to flag missing or expired documents, but we cannot catch every error. A verification pass by Vera does not shift responsibility for accuracy away from you.

Submitting false, altered, or misleading credentials is grounds for immediate account termination, withdrawal of any pending submission, termination of employment, and reporting to the relevant licensing board and facility. You agree to indemnify Vera for losses arising from inaccurate information you provide.

5. Employment Relationship

Creating an account does not make you a Vera employee. Applying to a contract does not make you a Vera employee. Vera becomes your employer of record only when you and Vera have both signed a written employment agreement for a specific contract, and only for the term and scope described in that agreement.

When Vera is your employer of record under a signed agreement, Vera is responsible for your wages, tax withholding and reporting, workers compensation coverage, and the benefits described in that agreement. Your day-to-day clinical work is directed by the facility, which is the workplace for purposes of clinical supervision, safety, and facility policy.

Nothing on the Platform, in the AI recruiter chat, or in email creates an employment relationship, an offer of employment, or a promise of a specific assignment unless it is in a signed agreement. Descriptions of Vera as “your employer” elsewhere on the Platform describe how Vera operates once a contract is signed, not a present relationship with you.

6. Pay Estimates and Reliability Score

Vera shows each contract as a full pay package: a taxable hourly rate, tax-free housing and meals stipends based on published per diem rates, the weekly gross they add up to, and a projected take-home for your tax profile, including any hourly bump from your reliability tier. These figures are estimates. Actual pay depends on the final terms the facility confirms, hours actually worked, your tax situation, your tax home and eligibility for stipends, and the terms of your signed agreement. Stipend eligibility is your responsibility to establish and document.

Your reliability score is calculated from completed contracts, extensions, facility and agency feedback, credentialing timeliness, and any early departures without documented cause. The score determines your reliability tier, and the tier determines the perks and bonuses that apply to your contracts, such as an hourly bump, a completion bonus, early access to new listings, and extension priority. Vera may adjust the scoring method, tier breakpoints and perks and will describe the current method on the How It Works page. Score changes apply to future contracts, not to a contract already signed.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Create an account for anyone other than yourself, or share your account.
  • Upload another person’s credentials or identity documents.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute contract listings, pay packages, facility data, or reviews.
  • Contact facilities directly to circumvent a Vera submission you initiated, or use Vera’s listings to secure a placement through another agency.
  • Post reviews about facilities you have not worked at, or post content that is defamatory, harassing, or discloses protected health information.
  • Interfere with the Platform’s security, probe its infrastructure, or use automated tools against it without written permission.

8. Reviews and Content

You keep ownership of the reviews, messages, and documents you submit. You grant Vera a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content to operate the Platform, including showing your facility reviews to other nurses in anonymized form and sending your credential documents to facilities you apply to. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. Vera may remove content that violates these Terms and may keep anonymized reviews after your account is deleted.

9. AI Features

The AI recruiter, document extraction, compliance checks, resume tailoring, and weekly briefs are generated by automated systems and can be wrong. They are tools to help you, not professional, legal, tax, or clinical advice. Always confirm pay, contract details, and compliance requirements against the signed agreement and the facility’s written requirements. Vera reviews AI output that affects an employment decision before that decision is made.

10. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, code, pay calculations, scoring method, and compiled facility and housing data, belongs to Vera or its licensors. You may use it only as these Terms allow. Vera’s name and logo may not be used without written permission.

11. Disclaimers and Liability

The Platform is provided “as is.” Vera does not warrant that listings are current, that any contract will be available, that a facility will select you, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vera is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost income arising from a contract that did not materialize, a facility’s decision, or your reliance on a pay estimate. Vera’s total liability arising from the Platform is limited to the greater of one hundred dollars or the platform fees Vera retained from your contracts in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in this section limits Vera’s obligations to you as an employer under a signed agreement or under applicable employment law.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by following the steps in the Privacy Policy. Vera may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, submit inaccurate credentials, or act in a way that endangers patients, facilities, or other nurses. Terminating your Platform account does not by itself end an active signed employment agreement, which ends according to its own terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law rules. Before filing a claim, you and Vera agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally by contacting each other in writing and allowing 30 days for a response. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Hudson County, New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Disputes arising from a signed employment agreement follow the dispute process in that agreement.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms go to the details on our contact page.
